This is a request for renewal of an information collection for United Nations (UN) Pressure Receptacles. The information collection is mandatory for regulated entities who wish to manufacture UN Pressure Receptacles and is a reporting and recordkeeping requirement. Those entities subject to this information collection are required to submit an application for approval of new design types whenever they wish to manufacture a new UN Pressure Receptacle, which is reviewed and approved by PHMSA. During enforcement inspections, DOT officials may request to see a copy of the appropriate information. The purpose of this collection is to ensure that UN Pressure Receptacles, align with International requirements and provide an adequate level of safety to DOT cylinders.
