Pursuant to the Danny Keysar Child
Product Safety Notification Act, section 104 of the Consumer
Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA), the U.S. Consumer
Product Safety Commission (Commission or CPSC) is issuing a final
rule establishing a consumer product safety standard for nursing
pillows. CPSC is also amending its regulations regarding third
party conformity assessment bodies, to include the safety standard
for nursing pillows in the list of notices of requirements (NORs),
along with identifying nursing pillows as a durable infant or
toddler product subject to consumer registration requirements. The
rule for nursing pillows contains information collection
requirements that are subject to public comment and review by the
Office of Management and Budget (OMB) under the Paperwork Reduction
Act of 1995 (PRA; 44 U.S.C. 3501–3521).
