What is the Annual Integrated Economic Survey?
The Annual Integrated Economic Survey (AIES) is a newly redesigned survey that combines mulple
mandatory annual surveys into one comprehensive data collection on business revenues, expenses,
and assets. The new format simpliﬁes reporng by consolidang all necessary quesons into one
convenient platform, requiring you to answer only industry-speciﬁc content that directly relate to
your company’s participation.
With key data items standardized across all sectors, the AIES will oﬀer a holisc annual picture of
the U.S. economy, allowing users to make meaningful comparisons, identify trends, and assess
relative strengths or weaknesses in and across industries. Your parcipaon plays a crucial role in
shaping policies that allocate resources eﬃciently and contribung to an accurate picture of the
economy. Your valuable data serve as a crical input in calculang the Gross Domesc Product

reporting screen. Without this approval, we could not conduct this survey.
Authority and Conﬁdenality
Title 13, United States Code, Sections 131, 182, and 193 authorizes this collection. Sections 224
and 225 require your response. The U.S. Census Bureau is required by Section 9 of the same
law to keep your information confidential and use your responses only to produce statistics.
The Census Bureau is not permied to publicly release your responses in a way that could
identify your business, organization, or institution. Per the Federal Cybersecurity Enhancement
Act of 2015, your data are protected from cybersecurity risks through screening of the systems
that transmit data.
Burden Esmate Statement
We estimate the Annual Integrated Economic Survey will take an average of 3.9 hours to
