The information collection is part of a joint effort between the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD), to maintain a working data set on active U.S. Shipyards. The information collected is critical in providing both organizations with a comprehensive list of U.S. commercial shipyards and their capabilities and capacities.
