This is a substantive change to
request approval to conduct the Survey of State Criminal History
Information Systems for yearend 2024. There is no change to the
burden and minor revisions to the instrument approved for the 2022
collection. The biennial survey of state criminal history
repositories will be conducted for yearend 2022. The survey will
collect data to be used as the basis for estimating the percentage
of total state records that are immediately available through the
FBI's Interstate Identification Index and the percentage that
include dispositions. All 50 States, DC and the five territories
will be surveyed.

This is a request to conduct a
very similar version of the 2022 survey for yearend 2024. The
burden and number of responses is the same from the previous
request.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).

the proposed collection of information, that the certification
covers:

(ii) Use of information;
(iii) Burden estimate;
(iv) Nature of response (voluntary, required for a
benefit, or mandatory);
(v) Nature and extent of confidentiality; and
(vi) Need to display currently valid OMB control
number;
