Comment # 1 - Paralyzed Veterans of America is asking BTS to expand coverage of the baggage, wheelchair, and scooter reporting beyond the top 14 carriers and to clarify the guidance we give to carriers for that reporting. Reponse - Expanding coverage would require a rulemaking and would involve increased respondent burden which are beyond simple renewal of an existing program. We will consider the proposed changes to our guidance to reporting carriers as part of our ongoing efforts to clarify and improve our guidance. |
Comment # 2 - Airlines for America is asking BTS to expand coverage of the BTS air carrier on-time performance data program beyond the top 14 carriers. Response - This would require a rulemaking and would involve increased respondent burden which are beyond simple renewal of an existing program. BTS has proposed initiating a rulemaking for various aspects of the BTS air carrier on-time performance data program as required by section 511 of the FAA Authorization Act. We believe that coverage beyond the top14 carriers could be raised as part of that rulemaking. |
