Justification for Urgent Need: FoodAPS instrument testing with all stakeholders must be completed by 03/07/2025 for an on-schedule data collection start date of 03/27/2025.

Summary of request 1: The U.S. Census Bureau is requesting a change request to remove and edit questions to align with E.O. 14168 Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.

Description of Changes Requested: This request removes the gender identity questions and revises the sex questions in the Initial Interview survey of the National Household Food Acquisition and Purchase Study (FoodAPS) Pilot Test to be in accordance with EO 14168. Description of Changes Requested: This request removes the seven detailed follow-up race questions for White, Hispanic or Latino, Black or African American, Asian, American Indian or Alaska Native, Middle Eastern or North African, and Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander.
