Abstract: This Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) submission requests Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approval of a renewal of the information collection requirements pertaining to the Atlantic Sea Scallop Fishery Management Plan (FMP) under OMB Control No. 0648-0491. The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) manages the Atlantic Sea Scallop fishery through regulations that limit catch of scallops, bycatch of certain other species, and fishing vessel activity. This fishery is only effectively managed and these regulations implemented through the use of information collected by NMFS to track fishing effort, catch, and the exchange of quota and trips through exchange by vessel owners. This information can only be collected through the reporting requirements included in this renewal.
