Title 10 United States Code (U.S.C.) 987 establishes limitations on terms of consumer credit extended to members of the Armed Forces and their dependents. This information collection allows for disclosures required by 10 U.S.C. 987(c)(1) and discretionary checks of covered-borrower status stipulated in 32 Code of Federal Regulations 232.5(b)(2) by creditors in the process of extending consumer credit.
Decrease in burden due to a decrease in responses. The decrease in burden is cyclical because data collection is based entirely on the number of loans applications by service members. Because of this, burden will vary randomly.
