This information collection permits the DEA to monitor the volume and availability of domestically manufactured listed chemicals. These listed chemicals may be subject to diversion for the illicit production of controlled substances. This information collection is authorized by 21 U.S.C. 830(b)(2).

The decrease in annual respondents is due to the fluctuating nature of the registrant population. The change in annual burden hours is due to a change in methods.an updated estimate of time per response. The change in annual cost is also due to a change in method. Previously, the approved 2022 figure represented the âMonetized Value of Respondent Timeâ calculated in section 12 on the Supporting Statement. The new requested annual cost represents the figure from section 13 on the Supporting Statement. There have been no statutory or regulatory changes affecting this information collection.
