The National Outbreak Reporting System (NORS) is a web-based platform used by local, state, and territorial health departments in the US to report to CDC all waterborne and foodborne disease outbreaks and enteric disease outbreaks transmitted by contact with environmental sources, infected persons or animals, or unknown modes of transmission. CDC analyzes outbreak data to determine trends and develop and refine recommendations for prevention and control. This Revision is a request to combine the two currently approved forms. Minor clarifications have been made to the description of select (<5) fields to ensure compliance with Executive Order 14168: Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism And Restoring Biological Truth To The Federal Government. NORS data are currently transmitted to CDC through a secure, web-based reporting system hosted by CDC (ITSO/AHB).
