Abstract: The purpose of this information collection is to detect state and local community changes in unintentional and undetermined intent drug-related overdose mortality and provide in-depth state and local (e.g., county) information on risk factors for fatal drug overdose deaths (opioid and non-opioid). State public health departments will be funded to abstract standardized data elements from medical examiner/coroner (ME/C) reports as well as death certificates and will report this information to CDC using a web-based platform. Findings will be used to inform the selection and targeting of interventions in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. This Revision contains updates to the web-based system and new data elements.
