Part 61 is designed to ensure that all tariffs filed by common carriers are formally sound, well organized, and provide the Commission and the public with sufficient information to determine the justness and reasonableness as required by the Act, of the rates, terms and conditions in those tariffs.
The Commission is reporting program changes/decreases to this information collection to reflect the decline in the number of filings submitted by respondents, mainly due to the obligations of one-time and on-occasion reporting requirement for access stimulation IPES providers being satisfied. Overall, the total number of respondents has decreased from 3,834 to 3,756 (-78), the total number of responses has decreased from 4,659 to 4,581 (-78) and the total annual burden hours have decreased from 171,378 to 170,314 (-1,064).
Also, the Commission is reporting adjustments/decreases in the total annual costs from $604,000 to $477,800 (-$126,200) due to marketplace changes and a decline in tariff filings.
No program changes are being reported.
