The purpose of this collection is to ensure that certain genetically engineered organisms, when imported, moved interstate, or released into the environment will not present a risk of plant pest introduction.

APHIS is seeking approval of a revision of a currently approved information collection request. The currently approved ICR is for 431 respondents, 4,948 total annual responses, and 44,082 total annual burden hours. This request is for 554 respondents, 10,294 estimated total responses and 16,907 estimated burden hours.
There are no third-party disclosure burden estimates hours.
Program Change(s) in estimate due to Agency discretion include:
There is a program change increase of +5,255 responses; however, there is a decrease of -30,790 total burden hours with the removal of the following activities due to them being discontinued or replaced. This change in activities is based on the vacatur of the final rule that APHIS published in the Federal Register on May 18, 2020 (85 FR 29790-29838 (citation/85-FR-29790), Docket No. APHIS-2018-0034)[1].
