This is a merge request to incorporate the provisions and associated burden from the Child Nutrition Program Integrity Final Rule into this collection. The information collection requirements and their related burden are currently approved under OMB Control Number 0584-0610. This final rule adds new and amends existing requirements in 0584-0055. The rule impacts the reporting and recordkeeping burden for the State agencies and the reporting burden for the institutions/facilities (businesses). It also adds upgrade and annual maintenance costs for the State agencies. The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) provides cash reimbursement and commodity assistance, on a per meal basis, for food service to children in nonresidential childcare centers and family day care homes, and to eligible adults in nonresidential adult day care centers. The USDA, through FNS, has established application, monitoring, and reporting requirements to manage the CACFP effectively.

This information collection is currently approved with 3,794,949 respondents, 16,213,703 responses, 4,213,974 burden hours, and $305,000 in annualized costs. The Child Nutrition Program Integrity Final Rule added new and amended existing reporting and recordkeeping requirements for the State agencies and reporting requirements for the institutions/facilities (businesses). The final rule also added upgrade and annual maintenance costs related to MIS development and annual maintenance for the State agencies. FNA requested a new OMB Control Number for these requirements and their associated costs. OMB Control Number 0584-0055 was assigned to cover these items. FNA estimated that the final rule would have 3,794,949 respondents, 115,227 responses, 22,191 hours, and $2,856,000 in annualized costs. FNA is now requesting that these items be merged into OMB Control Number 0584-0055. FNA estimates that this merge will increase the burden for this collection by 115,227 responses, 22,191 burden hours, and $2,856,000 in annualized costs. The rule did not impact the total number of respondents. After this merge is incorporated, FNA estimates that this collection will have 3,979,936 respondents, 16,328,903 responses, 4,236,165 burden hours, and $3,161,000 in annualized costs.
