Abstract: The National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is requesting a three-year extension for its current Livestock Slaughter collection and publication activities. While the survey methodology and sampling approach remain unchanged, there are program changes to the information collection request. Notably, the Monthly and Annual surveys have been discontinued.

Short Statement: We mail the monthly questionnaires four times a year. For example, the February, March, and April questionnaires are all sent together in April. Respondents still complete the individual monthly questionnaires, since the forms themselves are not combined. Although the data continue to be collected and summarized monthly, mailing the survey quarterly lowers the overall workload for participants. No changes were made to the survey methodology or sampling design. This adjustment preserves consistent data collection while reducing the impact on respondents. The separate Monthly and Annual surveys have been discontinued.
