Abstract: The STD Surveillance Network provides critical clinical, demographic and behavioral information through enhanced and sentinel surveillance among people diagnosed with gonorrhea, syphilis and those persons seeking care at STD clinics in order to enhance STD surveillance data, to inform a more comprehensive understanding of epidemiologic trends and determinants of STDs of interest, monitor public health program impact and provide a more robust evidence base for directing public health action. This change request is to adhere to recent executive orders. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requests a revision and renewal of the previously approved data collection entitled, “STI Surveillance Network (SSuN)”. SSuN is a sentinel surveillance system designed to provide information to better understand the community burden of disease, identify populations at greatest risk for STIs, and to monitor long-term health consequences of STIs, including risk of HIV infection and provision of biomedical HIV and STI countermeasures such as Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Doxycycline Post-exposure Prophylaxis (Doxy PEP) to persons at risk of HIV/STIs.
