The ANE Programs are authorized by Section 811 of the Public Health Service (PHS) Act (42 U.S.C. 296j) and provide advanced education nursing training grants to educational institutions and other eligible entities, to increase the supply of advanced education nurses, such as nurse anesthetists, primary care nurse practitioners, primary care clinical nurse specialists, and nurse midwives. Furthermore, data collection and reporting activities are a grant requirement authorized under 45 CFR Part 74.
This action reduced the overall HRSA burden of OMB approval. The burden decreased by 21 burden hours, which accounts for a less than a 1 percent decrease. This reduction is due to a decrease in number of NAT respondents.
