The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has responsibility for approving courses for training technicians in pulmonary function testing. The primary goal of this data collection is to adhere to the NIOSH duties outlined in the OSHA Cotton Dust Standard [29 CFR 1910.1043].
