This information collection will establish an up-to-date reference database of anthropometric data about law enforcement officers (LEOs) in the United States. Data collection will occur in 4 U.S. geographic areas with a goal of collecting complete measurements on 1000 LEOs. An anthropometer, a beam caliper, tape measures, and an electronic scale will be used to collect traditional anthropometry data. A hand scanner, head scanner, foot scanner, and whole body scanner, housed in a mobile trailer, will be used for 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional body shape measurements. Findings will be used to (1) define the adjustment range of seats and restraint systems and other safety features of cruiser cabs, and (2) improving fit and sizing systems and personal protective gear.
The latest form for Anthropometric Information on Law Enforcement Officers expires 2021-05-31 and can be found here.
