Abstract: PL-94-86, 94TH CONGRESS, AUTHORIZES THE NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION TO ESTABLISH THE ALAN T. WATERMAN AWARD FOR RESEARCH OR ADVANCED STUDY IN ANY OF THE SCIENCES OR ENGINEERING. AWARDS ARE MADE TO RECOGNIZE AND ENCOURAGE YOUNGER U.S. SCIENTISTS. PL 86-209, 86TH CONGRESS ESTABLISHED THE NATIONAL MEDAL OF SCIENCE AWARD.
