The
Qualification Certificate is one of a number of reporting and
recordkeeping requirements levied on drivers and carriers by 49 CFR
391, Qualification of Drivers. DOT has submitted several of these
requrements for approval over the past year. OMB is giving all
these items the same expiration date - January 1983. When these
information collection and recordkeeping requirements are submitted
for renewal in October 1982, they must be submitted as a group,
with a detailed justification for the need for the set of driver
qualification requirements. OMB suggests that DOT review these
requirements and consider ways the paperwork burden imposed by them
can be reduced.
