This request for clearance is conditionally approved for 6 months. Th is a lengthy body of regulations, over 500 pages, requiring specific recordkeeping practices and retention periods. It this package is resubmitted, the icc must more clearly explain the need for this information and the use made of it by the federal government. the icc must also explain the effect on the estimated burden of information which the commission requires operators to submit. for example, being drafted to modify class I and II railroad reporting, as well as motor carrier reporting. how such potential changes as these (or others) affect the total burden for the uniform system of accounts must be explained in detail if this package is resubmitted. Finally, the icc should review the record retention schedule and explain any changes which might be made to modify the periods records that must be kept.
