This clearance
request is approved to September 1985. However, the estimate of
burden hours is based on the assumption that 50% of the drivers
will use the current log, and 50% will use the modified trip report
with grid. In addition, estimates of the time required in both
cases are made. At the end of one year, BMCS should study these
estimates to check their accuracy. At the end of this period, the
agency should have enough experience with the manner in which the
industry is complying with the new rule, and should be able to
refine the estimates made for this clearance request. A correction
change should be made to the estimate noted above, based on the
results of this study.
