Terms of Clearance: OMB APPROVAL OF THE INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS CONTAINED IN 10CFR50.72C IS GRANTED WITH THE STIPULATION THAT NRC ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN AN ACCOUNTING SYSTEM FOR INFORMATION COLLECTIONS ACTUALLY SUBMITTED UNDER 10 CFR 50.72C. IN THIS REGARD, WITHIN 30 DAYS OF ANY INFORMATION COLLECTION CONDUCTED UNDER 50 CFR 50.72C, NRC SHALL SUBMIT A BURDEN HOUR ADJUSTMENT TO OMB FOR ENTRY UNDER ACCOUNT 3150-0011. IN ADDITION TO AN SF-83, THE SUBMITTAL SHALL INCLUDE A REPORT OF THE BURDEN HOURS BEING IMPOSED, THE BASIS FOR THE BURDEN ESTIMATE, A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INFORMATION COLLECTION, AND ITS NECESSITY AND PRACTICAL UTILITY THE ACCOUNTABILITY SYSTEM SHOULD BE PART OF THAT ESTABLISHED FOR THE EMERGENCY REPORTS FROM NUCLEAR LICENSEES, 3150-0012. BURDEN HOURS SHOULD NOT EXCEED THE ALLOWANCE PROVIDED FOR 3150-0012. ANY USE OF 10 CFR 50.72C WILL BE CONSIDERED AS USE OF THE ALLOWANCE PROVIDED FOR 3150-0012, AND WILL THUS LOWER THE CEILING PROVIDED 3150-0012.

Abstract: THE NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION IS AMENDING ITS REGULATION TO ADD 10 CFR 50.72(C) TO REQUIRE EACH PART 50 LICENSEE TO NOTIFY THE NRR CIRCUMSTANCES REQUIRING IT TO TAKE ANY PROTECTIVE ACTION THAT DEPARTS FROM THE FACILITY'S LICENSE. THIS IS A MINOR ADDITION TO THE REPORTING REQUIREMENT ALREADY REQUIRED BY 10 CFR 50.72(A) AND (B).
