Abstract: CONGRESS HAS MANDATED THE COLLECTION OF NATIONAL ASSESSMENT SURVEY DAT ACHIEVEMENT-RELATED QUESTIONS FOR THE 1983-84 READING/LITERATURE AND WRITING ASSESSMENT WILL BE FIELD TESTED DURING MARCH-APRIL, 1983. THE FIELD TEST INFORMATION WILL BE USED BY NATIONAL ASSESSMENT TO GUIDE ITEM REVISION, REVIEW AND SELECTION FOR THE FULL-SCALE ASSESSMENT.
