Abstract: THE NATIONAL CONTINGENCY PLAN (40 CFR 300) ESTABLISHES AS ONE OF ITS OBJECTIVES THE IDENTIFICATION OF EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE FOR RESPONSE TO DISCHARGES OF OIL AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. THE SPILL CLEANUP INVENTORY (SKIM) IS A COMPUTERIZED SYSTEM FOR RETRIEVAL AND UPDATE OF INFORMATION ON AVAILABLE RESOURCES.
