TITLE 23 U.S.C. REQUIRES THE
PREPARATION OF THE INTERSTATE COST ESTIMA EVERY TWO YEARS FOR THE
PURPOSE OF ASSESSING FUNDS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE SYSTEM SO THAT
ADDITIONAL AUTHORIZATIONS CAN BE MADE IF NECESSARY AND FOR
APPORTIONING FUNDS TO THE STATES ANNUALLY FOR CONSTRUCTION. THE
STATE HIGHWAY AGENCIES PREPARE THE ESTIMATES WHICH ARE APPROVED BY
FHWA AND SUBMITTED TO CONGRESS BY THE SECRETARY OF
TRANSPORTATION.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
with 5 CFR 1320.9 and the related provisions of 5 CFR
1320.8(b)(3).
