Abstract: THE CAB IS EXTENDING ITS ESENTIAL AIR SERVICE SURVEY. THIS SURVEY IS NECESSARY BECAUSE THE AIRLINE DEREGULATION ACT OF 1978 REQUIRES THE BOARD TO SEEK THE VIEWS OF STATE AND LOCAL OFFICIALS WHEN DETERMINING THE ESSENTIAL AIR SERVICE NEEDS AT ELIGIBLE POINTS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES.
