SECTION 9 OF THE NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH ACT, AS AMENDED (AND AS FURTHER AMENDED BY P.L. 97-35 ON AUGUST 13, 1981) REQUIRES ORGANIZATIONS OPERATING USDA CHILD FEEDING PROGRAMS TO PROVIDE FREE AND REDUCED PRIC MEALS OR FREE MILK (AS APPLICABLE) TO NEEDY CHILDREN. PART 245 SETS FORTH POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR USE BY STATE ADMINISTERING AGENCIES AND LOCAL PROGRAM OPERATORS IN REPORTING ON CERTAIN ASPECTS OF PROGRAM OPERATIONS.
