THE REPORT PROVIDES ATF WITH AN ACCOUNTING OF THE STRIP STAMPS THAT AN IMPORTER HAS RECEIVED AND A MEANS OF DETECTING POSSIBLE UNAUTHORIZED USES OF THESE STAMPS. STRIP STAMPS ARE AN ACCOUNTABLE ITEM BECAUSE TH EVIDENCE TAXPAYMENT.
