Abstract: THE INFORMATION CONTAINED ON THE STRUCTURE INVENTORY AND APPRAISAL SHEET IS NEEDED TO KEEP THE NATIONAL BRIDGE INVENTORY ACCURATE, TO KNO THE PHYSICAL CONDITION OF ALL HIGHWAY BRIDGES AND AS A BASIS FOR APPORTIONING FEDERAL FUNDS TO THE STATE HIGHWAY AGENCIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE HIGHWAY BRIDGE REPLACEMENT AND REHABILITATION PROGRAM.
