Abstract: AUTHORIZED BY THE NATIONAL HOUSING ACT (P.L. 479, 48 STAT. 1246, U.S.C., 1701 ET SEQ.). NEEDED BY HUD TO BE RESPONSIVE TO REQUESTS FROM BUILDERS AND NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS WHO WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN HUD MULTI-FAMILY PROGRAMS AND TO ASSURE PRUDENT EXPENDITURE AND ACCOUNTING OF INSURANCE FUNDS. APPLICATION AND REQUIRED EXHIBITS ARE USED TO DETERMINE APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY AND PROJECT FEASIBILITY AND TO ASSURE CONSISTENCY WITH EXISTING REGULATIONS.
