Abstract: CERTAIN BENEFICIARIES OF TRUSTS ARE ELIGIBLE TO CLAIM A CREDIT OR REFUND OF WINDFALL PROFIT TAX PAID BY A TRUST. IN ORDER TO MAKE SUCH A CLAIM, THE BENEFICIARIES NEED TO RECEIVE INFORMATION FROM THE TRUST. THE PROPOSED REGULATIONS REQUIRE THE TRUST TO PROVIDE ITS BENEFICIARIE WITH A FORM 6248 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING THIS INFORMATION. IN ADDITION, THE STATUTE PROVIDES THAT THE BENEFICIARY MAY ELECT TO REDUC THE AMOUNT OF OIL ELIGIBLE FOR THE ROYALTY OWNERS EXEMPTION & INCREASE
