THIS REPORT WILL PROVIDE SURVEILLANCE
DATA ON THE EXTENT AND TREND OF CONGENITAL SYPHILIS (UNDER 1 YEAR
OF AGE) IN THE U.S. IT WILL SERVE AS AN EPIDEMIOLOGIC AID IN THE
DIAGNOSIS AND FOLLOWUP OF CASES AND WIL PROVIDE LOCAL AREAS WITH A
STANDARDIZED COLLECTION METHOD TO ASSURE ACCURATE DIAGNOSIS OF
EARLY CONGENITAL SYPHILIS.
On behalf of this Federal agency, I certify that
the collection of information encompassed by this request complies
