Abstract: THE INFORMATION COLLECTION REQUIREMENTS IN THIS FINAL RULE ARE ESTABLISHED IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE REQUIREMENTS FOR STATE AND LOCAL HISTORIC PRESERVATION PROGRAMS AS SPECIFIED IN THE NATIONAL HISTORIC PRESERVATION ACT AS AMENDED IN 1980. THE INFORMATION WILL BE USED FOR APPROVAL OF STATE AND LOCAL PROGRAMS PARTICIPATING IN THE NATIONAL PROGRAM. STATES AND PARTICIPATING LOCAL GOVERNMENTS ARE AFFECTED.
