Abstract: METHODOLOGY. MORTALITY. ESTIMATES OF ERRORS IN THE PUBLISHED CAUSE OF DEATH STATISTICS ARE NEEDED BY DATA USERS IN INTERPRETING THE DATA AND BY NCHS IN DESIGNING PROGRAMS TO REDUCE THE ERRORS. THE PILOT STU WILL DEVELOP AND TEST THE METHODS FOR CONDUCTING A NATIONAL STUDY OF T ERRORS IN CAUSE-OF-DEATH STATISTICS.
