Abstract: THE DATA PROVIDES THE MEANS BY WHICH THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY CAN MONITOR THE AMOUND AND AVAILABILITY OF SURPLUS NATURUAL GAS SUPPLIES. THE DATA ARE USED TO IDENTIFY THE FIRMS WITH SURPLUS NATURAL GAS SUPPLIES AND IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF PROCEDURES TO ALLEVIATE ANY SHORTAGE SITUATION.
