Abstract: THE PROJECT IS A LABORATORY STUDY OF THE COGNITIVE PROCESSES INVOLVED IN STORING IN MEMORY AND RECALLING CHRONIC HEALTH CONDITIONS. THE RESULTS WILL BE USED TO DEVELOP ALTERNATIVES TO THE CHECKLIST APPROACH CURRENTLY USED IN THE NATIONAL HEALTH INTERVIEW SURVEY (NHIS) TO OBTAIN PREVALENCE ESTIMATES FOR CHRONIC CONDITIONS.
