Abstract: UNDER THE UNIVERSITY AFFILIATIONS PROGRAM, USIA OFFERS GRANTS-IN-AID TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OR ENHANCEMENT OF INSTITUTIONAL PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN U.S. AND NON-U.S. INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION. THE PROGRAM PROMOTES MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING, STRENGTHENS RESEARCH AND TEACHING ABILITIES AND IMPROVES OR EXPANDS THE ACADEMIC OFFERINGS OF THE INSTITUTIONS INVOLVED.
