Abstract: THE PURPOSE OF THIS STANDARD AND ITS INFORMATION COLLECTION REQUIREMENTS IS TO PROVIDE PROTECTION FOR EMPLOYEES FROM THE HEALTH EFFECTS ASSOCIATED WITH OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE TO ACRYLONITRILE (AN). EMPLOYERS MUST MONITOR EMPLOYEE EXPOSURE TO AN, KEEP EMPLOYEE EXPOSURES WITHIN PERMISSIBLE LIMITS AND PROVIDE MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS, TRAINING AND OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT AN TO EMPLOYEES.
