Terms of Clearance: This collection is approved pursuant to the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1981 for use through June 30, 1987 under OMB control number 2115-0111 subject to the condition that the agency print the OMB control number and expiration date of this collection on a phamplet that explains the training school approval program. A copy of such a phamplet was t be attached to this submission by the Coast Guard in order to satisfy the previous clearance conditions. The agency failed to demonstrate that it met the conditions of the previous approval. Since the phamplet is a key part of this approval, the agency must produce the phamplet for the next information collecti request.

Abstract: 46 USC 731 THIS STATUTE AUTHORIZES THE SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION TO APPROVED COURSES WHICH MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR REQUIRED SEA EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING. THIS INFORMATION REQUIREMENT PERMITS THE COLLECTION OF CURRICULA, FACILITY, AND FACULTY INFORMATION TO PERMIT EVALUATION FOR APPROVAL.
