Abstract: GENERATORS OF 100 TO 1000 KG/MO OF HAZARDOUS WASTE MUST NOTIFY EPA OR THEIR AUTHORIZED STATE WHEN THEY FAIL TO RECEIVE A COPY OF A MANIFEST THEY HAVE INITIATED WITHIN 60 DAYS. EPA NEEDS TO KNOW WHEN SUCH A SITUATION OCCURS TO DETERMINE WHETHER HAZARDOUS WASTE HAS BEEN ILLEGALLY DISPOSED OF OR LOST, POSING A THREAT TO HUMAN HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT.
