Abstract: WHILE WINE IS "IN BOND" THE FEDERAL EXCISE TAX ATTACHED TO THE WINE HAS NOT BEEN PAID. ATF REQUIRES THAT WINERIES USE THIS FORM WHEN WINE IS TRANSFERRED IN BOND, SO AS TO ESTABLISH THE LIABILITY FOR THE WINE EXCISE TAX AT THE TIME OF THE WINE TRANSFER. ATF NEEDS THIS FORM TO PROTECT THE COLLECTION OF FEDERAL EXCISE TAXES.
