This information
collection request was submitted pursuant to a reques for all
collections used when importing merchandise into the U.S. These
collections were reviewed as candidates for Customs' "Paperless
Entry Project". Based on our review, this collection has been
designated for a 1991 time track for incorporation into the
Customs' system. Development plans and a timetable for making
progres toward the paperless system should be submitted to OMB by
August 31, 1989. CDC should also notify OMB about any problems that
arise during the planning and development.

FOREIGN QUARANTI REGULATIONS IMPLEMENT
THE PROVISIONS OF THE PHS ACT IN PREVENTING THE INTRODUCTION,
TRANSMISSION, OR SPREAD OF COMMUNICABLE DISEASES FROM FOREIGN
COUNTRIES INTO THE UNITED STATES. INSPECTIONS AND CONTROL MEASURES
ARE UNDERTAKEN WITH RESPECT TO CONVEYANCES, PERSONAL AND SHIPMENTS
OF ANIMALS AND ETIOLOGIC AGENTS.
