Abstract: IN 1985, IT WAS ESTIMATED THAT 930,000 AMERICANS WOULD DEVELOP CANCER AND 462,000 AMERICANS WOULD DIE OF THE DISEASE WITHIN THE YEAR. THIS SURVEY OF 3,000 GIANT FOOD, INC. CONSUMERS ABOUT THEIR KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDES AND SELF-REPORTED DIETARY PRACTICES WILL ENABLE NCI TO REDIRECT ITS PUBLIC EDUCATION PROGRAM AND THUS FURTHER REDUCE CANCER RELATED MORBIDITY AND MOTALITY.
