THE DATA ARE NEEDED BY BLS AND OSHA TO REPORT ON, AND CARRY OUT ENFORCEMENT OF STANDARDS TO GUARANTEE WORKERS' SAFETY AND HEALTH ON THE JOB. CURRENTLY 1,500,000 EMPLOYERS MAINTAIN RECORDS, BUT WE ESTIMATE ONLY 64 PERCENT HAVE RECORDABLE CASES.
