DFARS interim regulation of October 31, 1988 is still undergoin
review, that document once final should be the base for the
development of a single set of regulations. A progress report on

THIS REGULATION SETS OUT THE RIGHTS OF
THE GOVERNMENT AND ORGANIZATIONS CONTRACTING WITH THE GOVERNMENT TO
DATA DEVELOPED UNDER FEDERAL CONTRACTS AND DATA DEVELOPE AT PRIVATE
EXPENSE. THIS WILL FACILITATE THE USE BY THE PUBLIC OF SUC DATA,
AND PROMOTE RESEARCH, BOTH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE THROUGH A UNIFORM
POLICY.
