Abstract: HAZARDOUS WASTE, RELEASES REPORTING' EPA WILL USE THE INFORMATION TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF A REPORTING REGULATION AND TO FOCUS MANAGEMENT ATTENTION ON ACCIDENTAL RELEASES. CURRENTLY AVAILABLE INFORMATION ON RELEASE CAUSE AND PREVENTION IS INADEQUATE. FACILITIES, PREDOMINANTLY IN THE CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY, WILL NEED TO SUPPLY THE INFORMATION WHENEVER THEY HAVE AN ACCIDENTAL RELEASE THAT MEETS THE SPECIFIED TRIGGER CRITERIA.
