We have once
again extended approval of the existing paperwork requirements to
allow time for completion of the final rule on ventilation in
underground coal mines. As MSHA expects to publish the final rule
at the end of 1990, we have extended approval through January,
1991. Please see previous approvals for comments on the proposed
paperwork requirements.

INDUSTRY, METHANE, DUST CONTRO THIS COLLECTION REQUIRES UNDERGROUND
COAL MINE OPERATORS TO SUBMIT A DETAILED VENTILATION SYSTEM AND
METHANE AND DUST CONTROL PLAN, INCLUDI USED TO INSURE THAT A SYSTEM
IS DEVELOPED AND USED THAT WILL EFFECTIVE VENTILATE THE
MINE.
